Marvel, Music, and More! September Mystery Mailbag Update!

  • by

We’re at the end of September! For those who don’t know, if you go over to patreon.com/jeffmay, you can get cards sent to you or help us keep buying silly cards to break. As of this writing, our schedule over at YouTube.com/@jeffhascoolcards is

  • Mondays—6:30 pm Pacific Time—I Must Dre’K You, where I try to complete sets from my childhood.
  • Wednesday—1:00 pm Pacific Time—I Must Break You, where Jeff breaks all kinds of cards and then mails the good ones to patrons.
  • Friday—?? Jeff May’s Mailbag! Here, Jeff shows off things he’s bought, received in the mail, or purchased at the store. Feel free to comment or DM Jeff if you have anything you feel like sending him!

Let’s run down what Jeff broke this month and what you can get. Spoiler, I’m not just a content writer for Jeff Has Cool Cards, I also subscribe to the Patreon, so I’ll be listing what I want in the mail, as well as suggesting what I think are some cool pulls from the set(s). If you really want something, the best way is to comment on the YouTube video. It helps the YouTube algorithm let us know you like us. It lets us know what you want. Win-win-win! Also, I broke down the first week of the month earlier, so if you missed that and wanna see what Jeff got up to and some cool cards that could be yours, check out Week 1 here.

9/25/2024 – 1992 Comic Images Shadow Hwk

A product of the 90s, if ever there was one. Image Comics had some of the best talent in the world, with, some might say, derivative works. Regardless, these cards are rad, although they do get Jeff to break down on the impossible physics of a shiny dark suit in the night and how can it reflect how it does. Enjoy Shadow Hawk #1 and a random Spawn card as my choice for some sweet images in this break! Choices from this set? A random Spawn card, and Shadow Hawk #1!

9/18/2024 – 2024 Upper Deck Marvel Beginnings Volume 2

We love this line of cards and have opened multiples of the Vol 1. run, which, incidentally, has the best Rogue card out there, in my opinion. Since this is volume two, we get into more esoteric characters, but Jeff’s cool friend TJ Shevlin still put together a fantastic set, and there are easily multiple cards you’d want from this set. Choices from this set? Blue Lockheed and numbered (sadly off-center) Death card.

9/13/2024 Mailbag Fun!

As I’ve said, Jeff loves opening mail and showing off collectibles. In this case, that includes comics he got, custom action figures, future pack breaks. Also, Jeff typically breaks something during a mailbag. This time we got 2022-23 NHL Topps Stickers and WandaVision cards! For special cards like the purple prizm beheaded Vision, we may have to wait for a special month, still, a fun card. As an Avs fan, seeing “Paul Stastny” on a new team was a shock — I haven’t followed Hockey in forever — but still rad!

9/11/2024 1991 Pro Set MusiCards

Wow, special guest Adam Tod Brown hops on to break down a wild set of 1991 Pro MusiCards, which has some wild names. With apologies, I love Nerd! tie-ins, so this set having Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze’s Vanilla Ice and Surf Ninja’s Tone Loc? Pure awesomeness!

Holy cats, we’re on to October, reminder, this month you’ll be getting Impel Marvel Stickers AND Surf Ninjas stickers in your packs. Can you afford to not subscribe over at https://patreon.com/jeffmay? And no worries, I’ll for sure do at least a post or two on other awesome things that can be yours. Until then!
